M and I have been working steadily at various things all day long. Everything is under control, there is no more freaking out about anything. We have food cooking and scheduled for delivery. Drinks are chilling in the refrigerators and cookies are baking and cooling. Our tree looks quite lovely with all the wrapped gifts beneath. I’m going to make our bed and put away some stray shoes, then shower and relax while awaiting our guests. No matter what, what matters most to us will be with us this evening – eating, drinking, swapping stories, unwrapping gifts, enjoying the evening.
Since we are celebrating Christmas tonight, M and I have decided to drive to Monterey tomorrow and visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Friday. We have been wanting to see the octopus exhibit (yes, we are geeks that way), and this seems a perfect time to visit. It should be a pleasant drive, no particular rush, and definitely a nice way to spend the Friday after Christmas rather than visiting a mall or something else. We will come back on Saturday to prepare for the last days of the year.
No matter what you celebrate, I hope your days are peaceful and filled with happiness and joy. To my friends near and far who celebrate Christmas, from our family and our home to yours, we wish a very Merry Christmas.
